About Us

Lykes Music Studio is a private music-education space nestled in Midtown Village in Wilkes-Barre, PA, offering personalized instruction in a relaxed, creative environment.

Our location was formerly Katrina Lykes Voice Studio. In Summer 2025 we expanded with a second facility operated by Katrina Lykes in Kew Gardens, New York City. This expansion offers us the opportunity to work alongside Broadway level minds within the city while offering that experience to Wilkes-Barre.

Between university educated minds and experience on and behind stages our staff are still in the trenches of performance and the industry.  We offer voice lessons for every voice in a vast array of genres ranging from karaoke heroes to classical quintessentials, from garage rockers to nailing role auditions. We offer guitar and bass lessons for beginners who have never touched a string to intermediate players who seek more depth in the instrument. 

Our studio space is truly private and we proudly work with neurodivergent, disabled and underserved communities. It’s a sensory friendly space for all walks of life without outside interruptions (aside the occasional knock at the door!) Our friend Russ summed up the space best in his first lessons.

“The last place I went to had a trumpet lesson in the left hand room, a drum lesson on my right and people trying out guitar amps on the sales floor; here it is silent.”

We pride ourselves on being a staff of continual learners, our professionalism, adaptability, patience, empathy and, most of all, being down to earth. There is no “Master-Apprentice” approach at Lykes Music Studio– we believe our time together is a two-way street where respect goes both ways.
